Course Overview
This NVQ Level 2 in Formwork is designed for experienced formworkers working in general construction or civil engineering settings. It formally recognises your ability to install, maintain, and dismantle formwork systems for concrete structures such as columns, slabs, beams, and foundations.
This qualification is ideal for those who have been working in the trade for at least 3 years and are ready to gain formal certification to enhance career prospects, meet compliance, or apply for their Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
Assessment:
- No classroom time
- 100% work-based evidence
- Remote portfolio submission (with on-site visit if required)
- Evidence types: photos, videos, method statements, risk assessments, and professional discussion

- Interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications
- Assembling and erecting formwork and falsework systems
- Striking and dismantling formwork safely and efficiently
- Conforming to general and workplace safety guidelines

- Minimum 3 years’ site-based experience in formwork
